Cheryl's Tablet PC Diary - Day 5

About Cheryl Wester

Cheryl is a high school teacher that recently won a Tablet PC.  This is the beginning of her diary based on using the Acer Tablet PC she won.

Day Five with my Tablet PC...  The Funeral

As I write this I'm waiting for the big brown truck to pick up my beloved Acer. Even though I had her for such a short period of time I will miss her. Already I had learned to depend on her for the basics of every day living. She looks so little and peaceful in her little brown box. I'm sure she is going to a better place and hope she will remember me fondly.

I followed the suggestions that were given to me and didn't have any luck. As a last resort I attempted a system restore and disaster struck. I was about, according to the indicator bar on the monitor, 30% done with the process when an error message came on the screen telling me that a file was missing. Before I could even see what file was missing, the screen went dark. I attempted the process again but it kept on telling me that it couldn't read drive C. When attempting to get it to read drive D (where the CD was) it wouldn't allow it and kept going back to the drive C error.

Since I was at Comdex, I went to the Acer booth. They were wonderful, especially Ryan Murphy from the Public Relation Department. She was on the phone immediately with Alan. After talking to this gentleman, he said that he would make arrangements for Acer to be picked up tomorrow, and that I would have a replacement early next week. What wonderful customer service. All of the people at Acer should be commended. They are working hard to correct the problem. I wish all companies worked that way!

When I have more information I will write again. Until then I eagerly wait the arrival of Acer Two.
